Conditions were pretty good with a fairly clear and stable atmosphere. The biggest problem was the low altitude of the Sun. It struggles to get very high at all at this time of year and from where I image, the rose bush over the arch in the middle of the garden, while very attractive, is rather in the way! The tripod was extened upwards to compensate. This has the trade off problem of becoming less stable.
The image was successful and there are many interesting features on display - a huge filament, a small active region and plenty of prominences.
