Here is an image of the northern area of the Moon with the large crater Plato residing between the Mare Imbrium, above, and Mare Frigoris below. Plato is about 110 km across. To the right of Plato is Montes Alpes with Vallis Alpes, the obvious valley running through the mountains. The collection of peaks in the Mare Imbrium below Plato are called Montes Teneriffe.
