Here is a close up image of the active region, AR 2708. The detail in the areas of magnetic field flux and the darker spots themselves has come out extremely well here. Are the two spots to the left a fantastic animal's nostrils, with an eye to the right? Perhaps his other eye is to the left, covered by some fur hanging down over it?!
