Here is a picture of my original pre-observatory, set up in action in the middle of my garden. It appears to be a tangle of wires and red lights, but it all makes sense to me. Note the cardboard box protecting the laptop from the cold, an essential piece of kit! Unfortunately the smudge across the top of the image is not the Aurora Borealis, but just a passing cloud. Orion, Taurus and The Pleiades are clearly visible in the sky. I used this image as the front cover to my book, 'In The Marlborough Night Garden - Volume 1'.
